As part of the ongoing partnership between the German Embassy in Kingston and the Alpha Institute (in 2015 the German Embassy financed the solar project at the Alpha Institute) the Alpha Institute received a small grant for their agro-project as part of the landscaping training program existing at the Alpha Institute. This training will be certified in order to increase the job opportunities for boys coming from difficult social and economic conditions.

Farming will assist the landscaping students with basic skills in vegetable farming.

The agro-farm is a year long farm program for training and food security. The vegetables raised will be used in the subsidized breakfast and lunch program. The program is designed to affect all the 140 at risk youth in the school.
