Welcome to the Webpage of the German Embassy in Kingston

We appreciate your interest in Germany, German-Jamaican relations and the work of our Embassy. The German Embassy in Kingston is also the German diplomatic representation for the Bahamas and covers the Cayman Islands and the Turks & Caicos with respect to consular affairs.

For all of you who are interested in my country you'll find information and data about Germany and on German-Jamaican relations on this webpage. Germany and Jamaica have enjoyed cordial relations ever since their establishment in August 1962. In 2012 we will be able to celebrate the 50thanniversary of German-Jamaican diplomatic relations.
Especially tourism and music establish a human link between our two countries. Every year many thousands of German tourists set out to discover this beautiful island. On the other hand Germany is an important market for Jamaican musicians especially in summer .

Germans and Jamaicans share many values and similar interest as is true for the whole region of the Caribbean and Latin America. The strategy paper of the German government on Latin America and the Caribbean adopted in 2010 (you'll find the link on this webpage) underlines Germany's great interest in the region, all its member states and Jamaica as a Caribbean leader.

I hope you do enjoy browsing through the pages of our website.
